Watertown Youth Basketball - What's new for 2026-2027?
Hey all,
Welcome back for the 2026-2027 season! As usual, Watertown Youth Basketball will continue to offer fun, recreational in-house programs and slightly more competitive travel programs for 2026-2027.
For the girls:
In-town basketball is available for girls in grades 4-8, with two different structures depending on the grade.
For girls in 4th-5th grade, Watertown offers an in-house league with parent coaches, one practice per week, and one game every Saturday morning.
For girls in 6th-8th grade, Watertown is excited to offer a skills program run by the Watertown High School basketball coaching staff and players. They offer a combination of skills and scrimmages to help our players grow, while also offering a fun and relaxing atmosphere.
Travel basketball is available for girls in grades 4-8. Girls will be placed onto teams based on their grade and skill level. Watertown is a member of the Metrowest League, which competes against neighboring towns, usually within a ~1 hour radius of Watertown. Games are typically on Saturdays and Sundays.
For the boys:
In-town basketball is available for boys in grades 4-8, with a NEW league structure for 2026-2027!
The boys will be split into 3 leagues:
"College" for all 4th graders and some 5th graders
"G League" for some 5th graders, all 6th graders, and some 7th graders
"NBA" for some 7th graders and all 8th graders
Boys will be placed into the appropriate league based on registration numbers, skill, and experience after our pre-season clinics. In-house teams will have parent coaches, one practice per week, and one game every Saturday morning.
