6/7/8th Grade In-House Skills

Our In-House program is for both Boys and Girls in grades 6-8. This program provides an opportunity for kids of all skill levels to play basketball in an enthusiastic and fun environment.

Participants will meet each Saturday and spend their time on a split of skills development and scrimmages, including 5 on 5 as well as smaller group scrimmages (2 on 2, 3 on 3, etc) with the goal of improving skills and love for the game.

Boys and Girls leagues are separate.

Ages

In-house leagues are available for children in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. All grades play together.

When

The season begins in October and runs through the beginning of March

Where

Leagues will play at Watertown Middle School.

Practices

The 6th, 7th, and 8th grade in-house league does not include separate practices.

Games

Weekly sessions will include informal games as part of the broader skills development sessions.

Jerseys

All players will be provided a jersey for this league at no additional cost.

Man to man defense only - No Double Teaming

No Full Court Press

Fall back to half court except for last minute of game

One timeout per game

Don't keep track of team fouls

Shooting fouls only in act of shooting with the following exception:

In last minute of game all non shooting fouls one and one.

Playing time split equally according to Substitution sheet

Frequently Asked Questions

Are players required to play both in-house and travel?

No.

6th/7th/8th graders can play travel, in-house, or both, although it is highly recommended to have travel players also participate in the in-house program to increase their skill development.
